There’s BLUE in the garden!!! Wow blueberry bushes sure go at their own pace!
Last year we got a handful…this year maybe a bowlful!!!!!

I put in some very small bushes and also bought some big bare root 5 year old bushes. The tiny ones are doing so much better so sometimes it’s better to go with small and your patience will eventually pay off. Lesson once again learned. Maybe 😜

One of the endless things the garden has been teaching me is the importance of community. No plant thrives solo but is so dependant on those around it, the fungal network below it, the bugs, bacteria etc…

What does that have to do with bees? Well, I’ve been saying that this year I want to try create a🥲more community and when I walked by my old bee keeping equipment I had a thought.

I always wished there was a central spot with a group of people where we together kept our bees and learned from each other…so I thought, why not offer that and put it out into the world.

I don’t have the time to start keeping bees again quite yet but I could offer my farm as a space to keep them. I could offer my past experience and provide some equipment like protective gear, smokers, an extractor etc…

Would something like this be of any interest to anyone staring out with bee keeping this year or wanting to get into it? Or have experience and want bee friends!

I’m in the Ladysmith/Yellowpoint area if anyone or anyone you know might be interested! We could start a bee club of some sort. Just throwing the idea out there ♥️🐝

Daffodils 💛💛💛
I’m seeing them everywhere right now! The sides of the road and wild all over the place. I always thought they were kind of meh. When I was loosing my precious grandma we would pass fields of daffodils on the way to and from the hospital and now every time I see them I think of her. Funny how things connect us with memories and people. I extra love daffodils now. 💛

First things are finally getting into the soil.

Ranunculus.

No soaking or presprouting again this year. Letting the rain and soil do it for me. They came up perfectly without doing so last year. 🌱💚

Some catch up from January and February that are quickly passing! We had a bit of winter and the most beautiful snow! But as much as we love the snow it was nice to see it melt away. The animals were especially happy about it.

I was able to spend some time indoors going through seeds I saved from the summer and getting ready to start on 2025.

So much gratitude for this growing season. For all its abundance and all its life lessons. I’m learning to slow down when I tend to jump in head first. Patience in realizing this is a marathon not a race. Grace, trust and the list goes on.

Holy moly spring is busy! Every year I say I’ll get better at posting things but 😬
I’m extra excited about the zinnias this year because uhmmm these seeds obviously 😍 They got tucked into the ground yesterday.
The greenhouse is slowly emptying and there’s been lots of rain. The world is green and gorgeous. I love spring ✨
